Continents of Aleen-gha

Continents of Aleen-gha.

Below is a short list of the continents of Aleen-gha and the large regions within each individual continent. While only five distinct continents are listed here, the vast oceans east of Altha-Feor and west of Jatua and Ro'thas have never before been crossed. Or if they have, nobody has returned to tell the tale, at least not in any recorded sense. Keep in mind that the vast majority of information of individual locales will be in each continent's corresponding wiki page.

Colossal Locales[edit]

Millagea Ocean[edit]

Also known as "The World River", this vast ocean rests between Altha-Feor, Gignes and Ro'thas. It is the biggest thoroughfare of trade and exploration. Over thousands of years, imperialist nations have traversed this ocean, ready to conquer the unknown. Thousands of islands are dotted along its vast waters. Many cities rest along shores next to the Millagea, including Abrinax, the Quay of Larshün and many others.

Altha-Feor[edit]

A veritable world in and of itself, Altha-Feor is the largest continent in Aleen-gha. Most of its inhabitants hardly even realize that any other lands exist beyond its borders.

Large Locales[edit]

All larger locations of Gignes. This includes oceans, mountain ranges, and any other geographical region that spreads beyond one or more political regions.

Akkenbar[edit]

Land of the fabled Akkenbar Empire, this area spans thousands of miles, taking up the majority of the southern tip of Altha-Feor.

Beoric Mountains[edit]

The largest mountain range in Altha-Feor, resting roughly a hundred miles inland from the western cost, it spans several thousand miles across the northern half of the continent.

Dao Salam[edit]

This desert region stretches thousands of miles throughout central Altha-Feor between Vutha Valignat and the Beoric Mountains.

Tochku[edit]

The geographically isolated region of Tochku, located on the northeastern-most tip of the continent of Altha-Feor.

Vutha Valignat[edit]

Centrally located in the middle of Altha-Feor, this area not only includes the swamp, but also a large mountainous region directly to the northeast.

Bottenhavet[edit]

The northern continent of Bottenhavet, this entire continent suffers through a seemingly endless winter but recent findings suggest that the region might not always have been this way...

Large Locales[edit]

All larger locations of Bottenhavet. This includes oceans, mountain ranges, and any other geographical region that spreads beyond one or more political regions.

Sjobia[edit]

The influence of the Empire of Sjobia reaches far across Bottenhavet, up and down the Barrage. However, this actual boundaries of the region are hard to discern. In reality it may be closer to a series of city-states that are allied under a single banner.

Xanxaj Stiga[edit]

The snowy plains of Xanxaj Stiga is a vast winter desert that spans for thousands of miles north of the Barrage.

Gignes[edit]

Gignes is considered the central continent of Aleen-gha. Currently most of the areas detailed are located in the Taurenian Peninsula.

Archipelago of the Coipor Alliance[edit]

Located several hundred miles south of the Taurenian Peninsula, this group of islands is technically closer to Gignes than Ro'thas and is therefore lumped together with the mainland of Gignes, even if it has little to do with the continent otherwise.

Haven Area[edit]

This area is located near the easternmost coast of Gignes, north of Larshün-Rovanda.

Larshün-Rovanda[edit]

The area of Larshün-Rovanda, located directly east of Taurenia and comprising the eastern portion of the Taurenian Peninsula.

Taurenia[edit]

The area of Taurenia, location of the earliest adventures recorded in Aleen-gha.

Nack[edit]

The airborne region of Nack exist solely above the Cloud Canopy, widely unknown of by the world below, and vice versa. (current campaign location)

Runeterra[edit]

One of the largest islands of Nack, the massive dwarven metropolis of Bandle City sits here.

Spatera[edit]

This relatively dismal island is mostly known for its central castle and the despot living there, the vampire Lord Diovax.

Ro'thas[edit]

The southern continent of Aleen-gha, Ro'thas is nearly covered in a sprawling jungle.

Gilmun[edit]

Gilmun is a vast area in Ro'thas. While not specifically mapped out yet, the whole area is guessed to be somewhere central in Ro'thas.

Shenvelir[edit]

The kingdom of Shenvelir covers much of the north-central region of Ro'thas and consists primarily of woodland elves.

Other Major Locations[edit]

This section represents all other locales that are not found on the primary material plane of Aleen-gha, which would include separate planes such as the Astral Sea or the Shadowfell. This section may also later include locations in the Underdark and possibly in worlds beyond Aleen-gha.

Feywild[edit]

Considered one of the parallel planes to Aleen-gha, the Feywild is filled with mysteriously magical and unhindered nature.

Lestothiel[edit]

The location of the Primal Spirit known as Lestothiel, this massive tree is nestled in the Feywild mountains parallel to the Barrage.

Svarwood[edit]

Some consider the mysterious forest, home of the sibling gods of the Svar-tu Pantheon, an exceptional realm that resides within both the outer planes where all gods reside and within the Feywild itself, birthplace of elves and faerie alike. In reality, the divine Svarwood is a pocket plane within the greater realm of the Feywild. Only those who are of special interest to the Svar-tu gods and goddesses.

Limbo[edit]

Limbo represents a separate plain "below" Aleen-gha, swirling with entropy. Below is the list of unique locales in Limbo.

Zerth'ad'dat[edit]

Once a grand fortress held by the githzerai of Limbo in defense against the githyanki, it is now the ruined base of Zgotar the Incorrigible and his hordes of slaad.

Plane of Pain[edit]

This is the pocket realm specific to the Elven God of Pain, Barratu. This desolate realm features blackened dirt and gravel, an overcast red sky, and one major feature, the Temple of Anguish.

Temple of Anguish[edit]

This massive unholy sanctuary rests upon a sharp cliffside that plummets into oblivion. Its warped and twisting walls at first glance looked to be made of wood, but upon closer inspection, the material seems closer to a cold, blackened iron. In the central atrium of the temple stands the Tree of Pain standing over 200 feet tall and featuring long, winding branches upon each are numerous thorns reaching up to four feet. Impaled upon the vast majority of these thorns are the still-living bodies of thousands of souls cursed to this unforgiving realm, each of them sent here by a secret devotee of Barratu who prayed to the God of Curses to exile the marked individual to a eternity of unknowable pain and misery.

c. SH 670, December: The brass dragonborn Umer Deszeld finds himself upon the Tree of Pain for reasons unknown to him.
SH 671, March 5th: The group of adventurers infiltrated the Temple of Anguish, defeated the Shrike and released the thousands of individuals upon the Tree of Pain simultaneously using the Flower of Myralda. (read more on Episode 4: "The Tree of Pain")

Scio-Arcaneum[edit]

The sub-plane of Alfan Skystone resembles a massive tube, roughly one mile in diameter, filled with earthen spokes, massive columns that reach from one end of the realm to the other. A forceful wind rushes through the realm from one far end to the other. These ends always seem to be on the horizon and it seems to be impossible to walk any closer to it. Gravity pulls downward on the inside of this "tube", however, which allows an individual to walk around the tube easily. Walking a little more than three miles in this way will put you in the same spot where you began.

The realm is filled with exotic creatures ranging from the seemingly tame flail snail to earth and air elementals to the stone-like guardians known as galeb duhrs and the dreaded monstrosity known simply as the purple worm.

According to the religious text of the Church of Alfan Skystone, known as the Kronkaas, the Scio-Arcaneum is only a stepping stone between the mortal realm and the Blessed Mountain of Heaven, the home realm of Alfan Skystone himself.

Circles of Stones: These stones are centered around gate-stones that rest atop hills within the Scio-Arcaneum. The gate-stones are protected by galeb duhrs who test any travelers who might want to reach the Blessed Mountain of Heaven and reach the pinnacle of the dwarven afterlife for eternity. The galeb duhrs often speak with Alfan Skystone in their own mysterious way, which can take several hours of silence, which in itself tests any traveler's patience among other attributes.

SH 671, March 18th: The adventurers Kamenos, Balasar and Freia entered into the Scio-Arcaneum and saved a few galeb duhrs from a purple worm, which in turn allowed them access to the Blessed Mountain of Heaven. (read more on Episode 8: “Retrieving the Skystone”)

Traveller[edit]

Although these locations have never truly been visited in the "universe" of Aleen-gha, they have been recorded here in case they happen to be used in the future.
