Andras[edit]

(Played by Adrian S.)

Human Fighter 7 (Eldritch Knight)
(Lawful Neutral)

Sessions Played:

Biography: (Hermit) Andras had proven himself to be a reliable front-line fighter in the Nack Army, thus earning him a place in a guerrilla unit aimed at highly mobile, shock trooper combat. The missions he undertook were dangerous but not limited to: ambushing trade caravans of those who opposed the empire, security for powerful politicians, and scouting for larger party raids.

Among this task-force were equally capable fighters, known only to each other by their pseudo-names:

  • Jackal (Name: Andras)
  • Wasp (Name: Unknown, 30's)
  • Hawk (Name: Unknown, 20's)
  • Minx (Name: Unknown, 20's)
  • Wolf (Name: Unknown, old)

Although they were loyal to each other as brothers- and sisters-in-arms, their loyalty to the emperor, Rustingard Nack II was just as fierce.

The request was simple enough, and always delivered by raven: "Divert enemy combatants living north of the Deadfall River on the third night following the full moon. Normal payment will be tripled. As always, your teams' discretion is mandatory." All it took were five of these specialized fighters and a few moments to completely subvert the village's defenses and dwellers under the blanket of nightfall. The old man of the hamlet stood defiant, unwilling to leave his home even while the land around him burned to the ground. "Lotesse Barratu vasa lle arael, ar' quanta lle yassen aha," were the last words of the village elder right before Andras plunged his two-handed sword, Goldenheart, through his chest. (See below for more information about this incident.) Having fulfilled their duty, the elite group of five scattered into the damp humid night, vanishing as quickly as they came. All rendezvoused, save one...

Many years had passed since disappearing into the woods that fateful night, and while his body and social skills deteriorated, his thirst for knowledge kept his mind strong. Every once in awhile however, the Goldenheart beckons him... and he must answer.

The information below is reserved for those whose characters can speak the Elvish language of Svar and have the DM's permission to read.

(Translation of the Svar curse)

"May the devil (Barratu) consume your heart, and fill you with rage." This Svar-tu curse was actually directed toward Andras' weapon, Goldenheart, and has indirectly affected the warrior in ways that he cannot yet understand.

Cordithas Meyne[edit]

(Played by M. Carrico)

Half-Elf Warlock 12 (Archfey Patron)
(Chaotic Good)

Sessions Played:

Biography: (Sailor) Born in SH 629. Being a half-elf, Cordithas learned at a young age that he was good at making friends and acquaintances; and that this skill was essential to his well-being. There were bullies in his youth who were not very fond of “blunt eared half-breeds” as they liked to call his kind. Cordithas was never very physically imposing either which made him an easy target. That is, unless he was surrounded by a wall of friendly faces. He also found comfort from such bigotry in his faith in Myralda and Her teachings of love, peace, light and joy.

Despite the bullying, he led a fairly normal childhood in a caring, elven family. He is the eldest child of his mother, a beautiful elven woman named Ieleia. His father was a human sailor who died before Cordithas’ birth. His mother remarried an elven merchant named Cordran who raised Cordithas like his own son along with his two full elf half-siblings, his brother Adran and sister Ielenia.

After schooling, Cordithas found he had no great talent for academics or feats of strength, but he was quite good at talking to people. So he found work as a salesman of sorts traveling on merchant airships and making trade connections for merchants back home. He enjoyed this for a few years, but always felt there was something more for which he was destined.

Always one to explore the varied locales on his travels Cordithas was on a rare break from business in Sparinon when he found himself compelled to investigate the forest. Quickly rounding up adventuring gear, he set out into the forest to find something he had yet to realize. On his second day into the forest, Cordithas stumbled into a beautiful glade and a “chance” encounter with Yonah The Pure. This scion of his gracious deity Myralda materialized out of the forest and spoke to him. Cordithas found himself spellbound. He could not resist questioning this great being and listening to his every word as if bewitched, although if this was enchantment then he willingly gave in to it. Yonah the Pure explained that he could sense Cordithas’ devotion to Myralda and called him here to meet.

It was during this fateful encounter that Cordithas entered into a pact with Yonah the Pure. He would receive mystical powers in exchange for one thing. He would answer Yonah’s call whenever it came and would follow his direction. Cordithas didn’t hesitate to agree. This day forever changed the course of his life and he set out to do his Patron’s bidding. Doing the odd job as necessary for survival, Cordithas pursued the life of a warlock guided often by his Archfey master, Yonah the Pure.

Early in Cordithas’ journeys, shortly after making his pact, he was led by intuition to Lallousa where he discovered a pseudodragon that had somehow managed to evade the humans up to this point. They both quickly recognized that they had an inexplicable bond. Cordithas knew that this creature couldn’t stay hidden here forever and somehow the pseudodragon seemed to understand this sentiment. They left the island together as master and familiar. Cordithas gave the name Zephyrus in a cheeky manner as the pseudodragon was silent on the matter of her name.

Several years after this event and many adventures later, he was visited once again in his dreams by his patron. Yonah instructed him to seek out a group known as the Blue Bandits. With the guidance of Zephyrus, he eventually made his way to the catfolk island of Meowlo...

Halcyon had a particular proclivity for priestly procedures, so he became a devoted cleric of Boar Herpes, pledging his life to academia and the glory of the magical peer reviewed University of Boar Herpes. He spent many years of study locked away in the halls and libraries of BH, but the ephemeral and ethereal travel dire badger bit him and he desired above all else: powe... field research! So he sought out an adventuring airship and sky captain (possibly gnomish) to fulfill his new dreams and sense of adventure!

  • Destroyed Egon the Lustful after a desperate struggle and another near-death experience. Halcyon grabbed the fabled devil-weapon Akaid and skewered Egon with it, truly destroying the archdevil. In the process, he has claimed Akaid and Egon's devil armor.
  • February 28th, after touching the Bead of Barratu and being sucked into a lifeless void, Halcyon was rescued by his companions within the Plane of Pain. However, he had aged drastically and now looks decrepit and insane from an unknown amount of sensory deprivation as part of Runsted's test. (read more on Episode 4: "The Tree of Pain")
  • April 7th, in the final confrontation with Diovax within the Chamber of Souls, Halcyon assisted in destroying a divine statue dedicated to his deity, the Goddess of the Moon Runsted and as such she cut off her power to Halcyon. Leucosa Enna[edit]

(Played by Steph V.)

Mountain Dwarf Fighter 20 (Battle Master)
(Chaotic Neutral)

Sessions Played:

Biography: (Soldier) Sister to Naïlo and the only other known survivor of the Svar-enna, Leucosa had drifted from her sister and her family early in life to pursue her passion, war. Unlike the rest of her tribe, Leucosa was determined to break free of the constant skirmishes and invasions with the neighboring orcs on Taurë and had joined a growing number of Svar-enna elves who thought similarly. Together, these hundreds of warriors made the first official army of elves and had set off to the far ends of the island to root out and destroy every orc they could find. The campaign lasted years.

During that time, Leucosa had learned how to fight with both skill and discipline, wielding a wicked blade in each hand and wading through hordes of enemies. She found that she was born for a life of battle and war and strife and would often shudder at the thought of attaining the goal of destroying all enemies on the island. When it came to tactics during an attack, Leucosa would often argue with the commanding elves about the best course of action, and would blatantly disobey orders she thought to be ineffective or outright wrong. In the end, her maverick nature would prove to save her life...

During a large attack on an orcish outpost, the entire unit was attacked by a massive blue dragon whose wrath did not distinguish between orc and elf. While her unit was in formation during the attack, Leucosa had stubbornly gone solo, finding a way around the outpost to ambush them in the flank. It was then the lightning terror destroyed her entire unit, along with every other unit in the elven army, along with every orc savage defending their outpost. Only Leucosa would remain, hidden in an outcrop of boulders like a rat. Her shame in this instance would follow her for the rest of her days.

After the massacre, Leucosa traveled for several days in search of the rest of the Svar-enna to warn them of this new, inconceivable threat. She eventually tracked them down to a massive field wrought with death. Her friends and family were destroyed by the same beast who slew her warrior companions. The bodies were so obliterated, it was impossible to distinguish one from another. Her entire tribe was slaughtered, and she was the only one left to tell the tale. In absolute defeat, Leucosa wandered the realm of Nack for the next few years, serving as a mercenary here and there, constantly searching for the only thing that would bring her comfort: battle. While on a trip to Bandle City, Leucosa had heard of the renown of a group of adventurers who had apparently halted the invasion of dozens of dragons. To her surprise, she heard her sister's name for the first time in years. Naïlo was part of this group and had heroically slew a dragon. She quickly found out that the group was aboard a dragon-bladder ship called the ElectroZephyr and was eventually headed for the elven island of Sparinon. For weeks, Leucosa had feverishly tracked the ship and her sister, trying desperately to catch up with the group. Eventually, she had found the ship on Sparinon, only to discover that her only sister had slipped into a coma and was being cared for on the ship. After hearing that her soul had been trapped in an undisclosed, extradimensional location, Leucosa could only weep for the hope that had lived in her for so short a time...

But it was not all lost. Leucosa knew what she needed to do, and now had once again found a mission. She knew she would one day find her sister's soul in the depths of the unearthly unknown, and she would cut down every creature that would stand in her way.

Notable Acts:

Lilhani Zimylan Taza[edit]

(Played by Shannon W.)

Forest Gnome Rogue 19 (Assassin) / Wizard 1
(Chaotic Neutral)

Sessions Played:

Biography: (Charlatan) Born to gnomish parents who died before she could remember, Lilhani grew up on the bustling streets of Namara. Throughout her adolescence, she became adept at making fools out of others. Instead of begging for food or picking pockets from passersby, she found ways to have these hapless citizens simply give her their money. She would sell fake magical potions or disguise herself as a sagely soothsayer selling fortunes. She eventually made a small name for herself as a trickster wizard, and was taken up as an apprentice by a mage known as Selubrius. Within his lone tower on the island of Bruya, Selubrius taught Lilhani the basic fundamentals of magic and wizardry. For a few years, Lilhani studied elementary arcana while sweeping the floors of the tower and fetching pales of water. Selubrius grew to trust Lilhani and treated her as a valued student.

After working for many years as a freelance wizard, Selubrius had finally saved enough gold to purchase a state-of-the-art dragon bladder ship. After purchasing a ship called the ElectroZephyr from the guild, he sent Lilhani to retrieve it from the fresh docks of Namara. Whilst gazing upon its stormy-blue exterior, Lilhani felt a growing surge of excitement within her. At last, her long con had come to a worthy fruition! As she steered the ship away from the city, she found herself travelling not back to Bruya and her teacher Selubrius, but where her fancy led her. She quickly found a crew of like-minded wanderers eager for adventure, treasure and knowledge. And thus began the infamous Flight of the ElectroZephyr!

Naïlo Enna[edit]

(Played by Steph V.)

Wood Elf Ranger 3 (Hunter)
(True Neutral)

Sessions Played:

Biography: (Outlander) As part of an outlying tribe of elves known as the Svar-enna, Naïlo grew up in a harsh world in which the rudiments of survival were in constant question. Unlike most elves in Nack the Svar-enna lived on the outskirts of the realm, on the island of Taurë. There, Naïlo grew up learning the ways of the marauder. Her tribe never stayed in one place on the island for long, and there were constant skirmishes against orcs and packs of beasts that also inhabited the island. Naïlo had eventually shown an affinity with the natural aspects of the hunt while her sister Leucosa focused more on the warrior's aspect of invasion. Eventually, Leucosa had gone off to fight a war with a neighboring orc clan for a few years. In the meantime, Naïlo had focused on hunting for her fellow tribesmen. For a time, Naïlo's life was simple. However, on SH 666, June 24th, her world had changed dramatically.

Seemingly out of nowhere, a great and ancient blue dragon had attacked Naïlo and the Svar-enna, spewing bolts of lightning as though a raging thunderstorm had focused its power on a small stretch of land. While Naïlo had barely escaped with her life, running as fast as she could into the treeline, her tribesmen, her family, everyone she had ever loved and known were slaughtered by the terrible, nameless dragon. She could only assume that her sister Leucosa was killed too, as there were both elvish and orcish arrows lodged in the crevasses of the great beast's scaly armor.

The next morning, Naïlo had surveyed the absolute carnage that befell the Svar-enna. Her friends and family torn asunder, dismembered, blackened by magical electricity, were strewn about the killing field. From that moment on, she swore an oath to slay every dragon that came across her path, no matter the circumstance. She spent the next few years both training and travelling about the realm of Nack in search of any and all dragons. Unfortunately, she didn't come across even one dragon, and she learned from others that no dragon had been sighted for over a hundred years after the Empire of Nack was established. The city-dwelling humans had made it their mission to destroy all of the winged beasts long ago, and apparently they had. Still, Naïlo refused to stop her hunt, as she had seen one dragon and she knew it still lived. The elf eventually found her way to the bustling city of Namara where she took up residence upon a ship known as the ElectroZephyr. She thought it very befitting to hunt dragons in the re-purposed corpse of a blue dragon...

Notable Acts:

  • Slew a green dragon wyrmling during a dragon attack on Bandle City on SH 670, November 30. This enabled her to utilize the Orb of Dragon Command.
  • After drawing the Void card from the Deck of Many Things, Naïlo's soul was stripped from her body and locked away in an unknown location on SH 670, November 30. She is now in a comatose state aboard the ElectroZephyr.

Notable Acts:

  • Came inches away from death when a swarm of centipedes attacked her in her sleep on SH 662, April 26th.
  • Died SH 662, April 28th amidst the chaos of betrayal. While trying to convince the green dragon wyrmling Achuaka of her alliance by displaying the Locquians ring she had found earlier. Periezade[edit]

(Played by S. Gray)

Fire Genasi Fighter 14 (Champion)
(Lawful Neutral)

Sessions Played:

Biography: (Knight) F. You were born with and raised by the Efreet Lahab, a fiercely proud tribe of Fire Genasi upon the desert island of Ingeni -- the only land you've ever known. While most of your fellow tribesmen and women were trained with the bow, the Altabib (summoner) divined a higher purpose for you -- a providence provided by the First One Ibn Almawt. Hence, you were instead trained with dual scimitars, and rose in the ranks within the Efreet Lahab.

You honed your skills during skirmishes with your rival tribes -- the Dao Ramal and the Djinn Dukhan -- and you also fought many valiant battles against the ruthless Tlincali tribes (monstrous scorpion-peoples). After years of proving your prowess on the battlefield, your Altabib Abd al Hakim summoned a powerful Efreet to assist him in forging two powerful scimitars for you to bring with you into battle -- Jamra and Alriyah.

A few weeks ago, your cousin Kamila, the daughter of the Alsaahir (chieftain) suddenly vanished. Alsaahir Khalid immediately sent you alone to seek out his daughter, suspecting the nefarious Dao Ramal had kidnapped her. After many days of travel and tracking, you instead discovered that she had found the Sphinx of the Source, Etekhas, and had attempted to find the Temple of Ibn Almawt in an effort to reunite the disparate tribes. After finding Etekhas himself and successfully answering his riddles tailored to you, you ventured deep within the Temple, fighting your way past cursed undead. They proved to be too much, however, and the cursed mummy lord Ibn Almawt himself managed to entrap you within a sarcophagus, where you were doomed to die from thirst and rise again as another undead servant.

With the same divine providence that Altabib Abd al Hakim had told you about in your youth, a wholly new band of adventurers came into the temple and defeated the mummy lord, lifting the curse of Ibn Almawt and releasing you from your tomb. You find the strange and completely foreign adventurers standing before the freed spirit of Ibn Almawt, who has just gifted them a mysterious artifact unknown to you, which he has called the Corona of Gates.

(Lawful Neutral)

Sessions Played:

Biography: (Guild Artisan, Blacksmith) Poppy spent her youth earning calluses and grease stains in her father's armor shop. Blomgrun, her father, was Bandle City's finest smith. The only thing he loved as much as his work was his young daughter, Poppy - named for the sprightly sounds of the sparks that leapt from his ever-burning forge. He swelled with pride the day she was first able to lift his trusty hammer, Whomper. Poppy immediately took to his art, demonstrating a natural gift for smithing, which Blomgrun honed with devoted instruction.

One day, a distant general named Florin Berell commissioned Blomgrun to craft a helm, glorious beyond comparison. Blomgrun toiled away on this project, determined to present Florin with his finest work. He let Poppy set the center jewel, entrusting her with the most important piece. When the pair finished, they departed to deliver it in person. Word of the general's order, however, was leaked to some of his enemies, and two assassins were dispatched to intercept the delivery. Blomgrun was able to occupy the assassins long enough for Poppy to escape with the prized helm. She watched helplessly from the brush as her father was slain.

Instead of fleeing home, she carried the helm the rest of the way to Demacia alone. She refused payment for it, saying that no amount would compensate for her father's life. Instead, she offered it as a gift, honoring her father's final intentions. Florin saw the grim determination behind the tears in her eyes, and requested that she be appointed as a guardian of the state. Soon after, seeking to crush those responsible for the assassination with her father's hammer, Poppy ventured off to hone her battle skills and find vengeance.

Biography: (Pirate) M, 55yrs, 200lb, 5'0" Throughout his young adult years, Rugor quickly gained a reputation throughout the clans at Bandle City by brawling with anyone who looked at him the wrong way, beating them nearly to death. After some time pirating with other dwarves aboard the ship called the Throwing Stone, he ended up with enough money to buy the airship Mace which he ended up using as a dedicated vehicle for treasure hunting. He picked up a few semi-like-minded crew mates along the way to assist in satiating in desire for treasures of all sorts.

Biography: (Sage) (Once a human named Elymas Auternus) It was the morning of The Cataclysm. Nothing unusual to be noted. The weather was pleasant as it always was on my island. Yes, I owned my own island. But, let me begin further back…

This was my sanctuary. My place to unravel the lost knowledge of the multiverse. During my years working in the studies of magic, I had established a working “relationship” with the dragons in my area. They would tell me long lost stories of their kind and the magics they used during their lives and the lives of their ancestors.

Among these creatures was the Brass Dragon known to me as Herensuge. He was one that allowed and possibly enjoyed conversation. Two solitary creatures unwittingly desperate for conversations delving into magic. He was an unexhausted source of knowledge, wisdom and things I never could have imagined. We had our pleasantries and scholarly dialog. Nothing more in common than our thirst for knowledge.

I can’t recall the day but there was a calamity that took me from my studies. Two great dragons battling! It was like nothing I had ever seen. Both taking to the air, clawing each other to find the advantage to undo the other. The battle ended as one of the winged creatures fell from the sky – mortally wounded. The other flew away, as I made my way to the fallen. Upon my arrival, I realized it was my old conversation companion. There was nothing I could do. No skill or magic could undo the damage done by the claws, bite and breath of my friend’s adversary. I made my way to his head. His breathing labored. Blood coming from his wounds, mouth and ears. His eyes’ lighted as he recognized me. More by smell than sight. He made some type of noise as his lungs were giving way. He spoke in his draconic language guttural sounds bouncing off my ear. But I could sense the magic in the air. I laid my hands on him, speaking to him. Letting him know he was not alone. He lifted his head one last time, saying “No favor shall be ungifted.” I didn't know what that meant. But I stayed there as his eyes closed, his breathing stopped. I sat there in silence, already missing our conversations.

It is now, I return to the fated morning. The Cataclysm. Somehow, some way – the Gods were angered. Their wrath met my lands. Light shot down and where it touched the earth roared, then torn itself apart. All my time alone, I had no one there with me. My learnings could not help me at all. How feeble I felt. I closed my eyes waiting for my last moments. As I waited I heard something faint. A whisper. I opened my eyes to see an old man with seven yellow canaries. I thought myself delusional. He seemed so at ease with what was taking place. He stretched out is staff to me and said, “No favor shall be ungifted.” The same words Herensuge said before he left me. From that moment on I don’t know or remember what happened. I don’t know any amount of time that lapsed. For when I woke, I found myself in liquid. I flayed all about breaking the barrier that held me. As I emerged, somehow different. It was then I saw myself anew.

The old man with the canaries stood over me. He nodded with some type of approval. As he turned away from me, he waved his staff once more, a silvery flash hitting me in my chest. Before I could look up – the old man was gone. It was that moment Elymas Auternus’ life was over. Umer Deszeld was Dragonborn.
