Boar Herpes Academy

(c. SH 200 - unknown) This legendary magical academy has survived utter devastation from a fall from the sky and was rebuilt by powerful wizards decades later. It has taught countless individuals in the arcane and divine ways of magic and has stood as a bastion of knowledge, learning, and civilization that is open to all who would wish to come and learn within its hallowed walls. Due to its innate magical nature, it has been the target of several oddities and attacks through the thousands of years of its existence but nonetheless the academy itself and the peoples within have found ways to persevere through any trial it comes across.

Houses[edit]

There are four Houses that represent the faculty and student bodies of Boar Herpes:

Unicorn's Gate[edit]

Those who join the Unicorn's Gate House represent the philosophical manifestations of bravery, daring, and chivalry. They are the boldest of the Houses and are regularly relied upon in times of desperation and warfare. Members of Unicorn's Gate are simply known as "Unicorns".

Magpie Paw[edit]

A classic Magpie Paw embodies the ideals of academic intellect, knowledge, and wit. These individuals are the keepers of tomes uncountable and are called upon when information is of the utmost importance. "Magpies" also frequently trade and collect various tomes with other libraries and scriptoriums around the world of Aleen-gha.

Wolverine Fluff[edit]

Wolverine Fluff, or "Wuffs", represent the epitome of hard work, dedication, and persistence. Some believe that the sheer resilience of the academy as a whole is due to the tireless individuals that represent this house.

SH 1997, March 15th: Seven would-be heroes who graduated to the rank of Apprentice by completing their final exam in the Danger Room chose to join House Wolverine Fluff.

Hissing Out[edit]

This House represents those who employ an ends-justify-the-means approach to all that they do. "Hissers" embody the philosophies of ambition, cunning, and resourcefulness, and although their deeds may be frowned upon by some, there is no denying their capacity for accomplishment in any field.

Blessed Regalia[edit]

The Blessed Regalia program initiated shortly after the beginning in the BUFD Wars. It has permeated into every classroom and exam taught by Boar Herpes Academy for the duration of the war and beyond. For more information on the specific Blessed Regalia transformations, go here.

S-Class[edit]

S-Class (Simple) are the new initiates to the Regalia legion. They are the lowest on the hierarchy and are usually sent in for simple missions and added as cannon fodder to the front lines of any minor skirmishes.

M-Class (Martial) is the next rank up. These individuals are still sent to the front lines and are sent on simple missions, but in the event that any command-level personnel are absent, M-Class Regalia will take the lead.

Omega Alert[edit]

The dreaded Omega Alert sounds from the Academy in only the most dire of situations that puts the school on a magical lockdown. Civilians from the surrounding town of Halo have only a few spare minutes from when the Omega Alert first sounds to rush into the gates at Boar Herpes before it is completely locked down. The Omega Alert has only been sounded a few times since its inception, but every member of the faculty, staff, and student body are trained in what to do when it sounds.

SH 1997, March 20th: The Omega Alert sounds when several agents of the Rifter Cult unleash rifter beasts into the streets of Halo. A magical protective bubble forms around the Academy and freezes the crater-lake that surrounds the academy while creating massive whirlpools in the portions of the lake that weren't frozen outright.
