Locales of the Continent of Altha-Feor

This continent is east of the Millagea Ocean and contains the Vutha Valignat Area, the vast desert country of Dao Salam, the colossal Beoric Mountains, the empire of Tochku, and the mysterious area of the Akkenbar Empire. Much of the continent has yet to be mapped, however.

Large Locales[edit]

This is a list of the large locales of the continent of Altha-Feor that span beyond any single listed region.

Beoric Mountains[edit]

The longest mountain range in the south, this massive range stretches for thousands of miles across the western face of Altha-Feor.

Great Eastern Shelf[edit]

Those who peer into this vast ocean speculate that the world suddenly ends somewhere far off in the eastern horizon. Many people imagine an unfathomably large waterfall that pours into the goddess Melora's mouth. All who travel into the eastern horizon fall into her gaping maw, never to be seen or heard from again.

Ishigawa Mountains[edit]

These mountains separate the empires of Tochku and Mitsuko. They are home to a variety of clans and peoples of many different races. They are especially known to hide several clans of oni as well.

Mountains of Skyshelf[edit]

Found far to the east of the Vutha Valignat area, the Mountains of Skyshelf are a harsh range, home to many giants and beasts, including the Kor Clan, home clan of the half-orc Ogther.

Sea of Horns[edit]

This sea derives its name from the strange creatures that reside in these waters. Those who dare to fish in these treacherous waters report great curved horns that jut up above the water's surface. Never has anyone been able to see the rest of the creature's body and many believe that these sightings are all just a hoax -- mere legend.

Silver Vale[edit]

This hidden vale is home to many xenophobic faerie folk, including Athena.

Mitsuko[edit]

The land of Mitsuko is home to wild raiders on horseback and stretches for thousands of miles across much of northern Altha-Feor, from the western forests to the Ishigawa Mountains. To see more of Mitsuko's culture, go here.

Flats of Hae Sin[edit]

These eastern plains are home to some of the fiercest horse lords in all of Mitsuko. The rest just south of the Ishigawa Mountains.

Ichiye[edit]

A city on the western foothills of the Ishigawa Mountains.

Kaiko-Bu Lake[edit]

This lake rests on the northern side if the Ishigawa Mountains and starts the Kaiko-Bu River.

Kaiko-Bu River[edit]

This river starts at the Kaiko-Bu Lake and splits into the Senju-Bu River. Oddly enough, the nature of these rivers do not follow the physical laws of gravity since it spills out from a mountain lake and splits in the plains instead of the opposite way around.

Tochku[edit]

Located at the northeastern tip of the continent. More information on this region here.

Tetsukuo Islands[edit]

This island chain contains several hundreds of islands that for a large crescent shape at the northeast tip of Altha-Feor.

Guichu[edit]

Much is unknown about this city, but it is believed to be the capital city of the Tetsukuo Islands.

Ropes of Tetsukuo[edit]

These fabled ropes act as a bridge that spans twenty miles across the mainland of Tochku and the largest island of Tetsukuo. Legend has it that the ropes are unbreakable and only the deftest acrobat with the most fortitude can cross unaided.

Vutha Valignat[edit]

Vutha Valignat is the given name to a central area of Altha-Feor. It contains within it many different terrain types but is mostly known for the swamp of the same name that rests in the center of the area.

Dao Salam[edit]

This desert region is home to many powerful genies and efreeti who war with each other ceaselessly using mortal armies. The vast desert stretches all the way west to the Beoric Mountains and east to the swampy lands of Vutha Valignat.

Abrinax[edit]

Abrinax is a sprawling coastal port nestled between the central west foothills of the Beoric Mountains and the Millagea Ocean#Western Millagea.

Beorishtel[edit]

This town is located near the southern tip of the Beoric Mountains. It has been recently attacked by a band of drow raiders (SH 1310).

Boar Herpes Academy[edit]

Built in SH 200 upon the ruins of what seemed to be an ancient battleground, Boar Herpes Academy is home to a slew of mages and priests of many classes and deities. It is surrounded by a large lake in the southern tip of the Beoric Mountains.

SH 1310, July 17th: There have been several drow raids on the nearby towns and villages, including Beorishtel. Many of the students and professors alike from Boar Herpes have either been captured or killed by these drow.

Danger Room[edit]

This oft-used room's walls is etched with illusory magicks which allows the room to take the shape of nearly any environment imaginable. Thus, it is used for simulated battles of all kinds.

Rift Board[edit]

A room within Boar Herpes dedicated to the monitoring of rifts and subsequent Rifters that have plagued the areas around the academy. The board itself is made of a magically-infused glass blown by Thenatin and Carrisli Sunshield, parents of the dwarven hero Lumynae.

Caldoran Forest[edit]

This forest rests east of Boar Herpes and is infused with natural magicks that emanate from the Great Tree of Caldora.

Caldora[edit]

In the forests to the east of Boar Herpes rests a small wood elf village of Caldora. The village itself resides within the Great Tree of Caldora, and its druidic magic fuels the life of the forest itself.

SH 1997, March: The forested region surrounding Caldora has largely become corrupted by Rifter invaders.

Capilliari Canyon[edit]

These canyons rest just south of the Caldoran Forest and are rife with raiders and other bandits. Small streams wind their way through this semi-arid region that is spotted with small caves and cliffsides that are perfect for setting up ambushes.

Butt Butte Cave[edit]

On the western edge of the Capilliari Canyon are the Butt Butte Caves that act as a natural gateway to and from Boar Herpes and Halo.

Durath[edit]

Also known as "Dickberg," this large city is home primarily to various colors of dragonborn and acts as the central hub for trade between the dragonborn, the elves of Caldora and Boar Herpes. It rests shortly northeast of Boar Herpes.

SH 1987: Durath was one of the first central hubs of civilization hit by the Rifter invasion. Within a matter of hours, the surprise attack utterly devastated the city and laid waste to the vast majority of the dragonborn population in the region. The black dragonborn Charnella was a survivor of this incident.

Gelfville[edit]

Pronounced "elf-ville" (the "g" is silent), Gelfville is home to some rather nasty wood elves who actually little affiliation to the elves of Caldora. Gelfville lies south of Boar Herpes within a forest, on the edge of which rests Nomeville, a small village of forest gnomes which the elves of Gelfville practically enslave.

Glockdunk Pass[edit]

This natural pass allows caravans traveling to and from Abrinax and the desert region of Dao Salam east of the Beoric Mountains. It's widely believed that thieves and barbarians hide out within the stony cliffs of the Pass to ambush any unwitting travelers. Therefore, it's highly suggested that any caravan traveling through the Pass bring with it a small mercenary force to protect them.

Halo[edit]

This ring of small houses, shops, and farms surrounds the lake and castle of Boar Herpes. It provides a buffer for the academy and also produces much of the necessary provisions for the fortress itself engages in friendly trade with nearby villages and cities.

Happy Mountain[edit]

Monastery of Unyielding Stone[edit]

The Happy Mountain Monastery.
The Monastery of Unyielding Stone is home to the monks of Happy Mountain. Their philosophy of strength in body and mind has helped them endure the hardships of existence. They are the rock in the stream of life, and are known for their stoic demeanor and crystalline focus. Their sanctuary once proudly stood at the peak of Happy Mountain, but with the incursion of the Rifts, the monks sunk their temple into the mountain itself for protection. It is run by a sagely monk known as Jaron.

Nomeville[edit]

A southern forest gnome village which actually rests on the edge of the southern forest. Its neighboring village of Gelfville has long held Nomeville in its twisted grasp and have basically held the gnomes of Nomeville in an indentured servitude. Nomeville is the hometown of one Ellywick Carawhip.

Stemdiboar[edit]

Accessible only through cenotes, it is said that the crater that Stemdiboar is built in was made by a nearby stone that fell along with the main campus of the original Boar Herpes back in SH 670. This fortress is located a mere three miles away from the academy, and is accessible through underground rivers and large cenotes.

Akkenbar[edit]

Medj[edit]

The central city of the Akkenbar Empire with a population of over half a million. The city has several districts including a forbidden city, a temple complex, a grand agora, and a massive amphitheatre.
